The Mountain View Coalition for Sustainable Planning, a coalition of Mountain View residents who would like to see a sustainable future for our city, has been delighted to observe the rapid progress toward implementation of Community Choice Energy in Silicon Valley. We applaud you and City Staff for taking a lead role in this process, and wholeheartedly support the Council actions proposed in Item 7.1. Note: There is now a name for the group of cities looking into CCE: Silicon Valley Community Choice Energy Partnership (SVCCEP). The partnership consists of Mountain View, Sunnyvale, Cupertino, and the unincorporated parts of Santa Clara County. Council Environmental Sustainability Committee March meeting and Energy Upgrade Mountain View2/9/2013 The next Council Environmental Sustainability Committee (CESC) meeting is set for the first half of March, date to be confirmed shortly. The CESC will discuss whether to propose funding in the FY 2013-14 budget to continue Energy Upgrade Mountain View beyond June 2013.
 On June 2nd and 3rd, Silicon Valley Leadership Group <www.svlg.org> and Bay Area Climate Collaborative <www.baclimate.org> will host a two-day conference entitled Charged: Electric Vehicle Symposium Silicon Valley 2011 <www.chargedsv.org> that will address key policy and implementation issues in California associated with the widespread adoption of electric vehicles. The event will be held at SAP Labs in Palo Alto. The workshop is for consumers, including public and private fleet managers, policy-makers and regulators, public works, planning and building division staff, commercial and residential landlords, developers, electric vehicle manufacturers and service providers. It will include specific sessions geared towards fleets, charging station deployment, and incentives. Other session topics include Bay Area EV infrastructure plans, grid capacity challenges and management, early charging station adopters’ case studies, and development of legislative strategy.
